About The Authors

As a double Black Belt with over 10 years of mat time and 7 years of coaching experience, Professor Romina founded Grapple Up with the mission of creating complete martial artists.

Along her journey, she has trained, coached, and competed in both Judo and Jiu-jitsu. Heading ventures such as her academy’s kids' program and training young athletes for National and World Championships, she has learned the verbal and physical cues that best resonate with children of all ages, and experience levels, including all around-champion Oliver Funge!.

Professor Romina and Ollie first crossed paths to improve his takedown game and competition strategy. Oli has won five state titles, two national titles, and a world title since!

The first in the Grapple Up book series is the culmination of all their experiences.
